Undergraduate for BIOL 395 or Work-Study Project on the Identification and Characterization of Song Syllables in Bird Song: The Sockman Lab is currently looking for a UNC undergraduate interested in a BIOL 395 or Work-Study  project on computer-assisted identification and characterization of  song syllables in bird song. Work can be conducted either in the laboratory or, if the student has good computer and internet connection, remotely. The student should be an independent and self-driven sophomore or junior. Depending on the student and initial results, the project could possibly form the basis of an honors thesis. Interested students should contact Keith Sockman by e-mail.

Undergraduate for BIOL 395 or Work-Study Project on Arthropod Communities and Climate: The Sockman Lab is currently looking for a UNC undergraduate interested in a BIOL 395 or Work-Study  project describing communities of arthropods collected in a sub-alpine ecosystem experiencing climate change. Work is conducted in the laboratory, where the arthropod specimens are housed. The student should be an independent and self-driven sophomore or junior majoring in Biology (or related) and have completed BIOL 201 or equivalent. Depending on the student and initial results, the project could possibly form the basis of an honors thesis. Interested students should contact Keith Sockman by e-mail.
